Chris Bryant

Chris Bryant died on 11th November after a short illness.

The funeral will be on Friday 4th December at The Wyre Forest Crematorium at 12.30. The crematorium is very close to the main dual carriageway as you leave Kidderminster travelling to Stourport – inside the gate on the left hand side is plenty of parking and it would be possible to stand socially distant from each other to observe as Chris’s funeral passes through the gate. The event is going to be live streamed over the internet and the link will be available shortly. We respectfully request no flowers for the service, if you would like to contribute to his family’s chosen charity, please follow the link to the just giving page: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/chrisbryant-cb?utm_source=Sharethis&utm_medium=fundraising&utm_content=chrisbryant-cb&utm_campaign=pfp-email&utm_term=ac26efa941f747d0aa91f583a0d3a097.

Peter Ogden

It is with great sadness that I have to inform you that WCACO life member, Peter Ogden, passed away peacefully on 3rd November.

Many will be aware that he had been ill for some time but he continued to fight his illness to the end. The committal ceremony will be at Manchester Southern Crematorium at 12.00 on Monday, 16th November. Unfortunately, because of the current restrictions, attendance is strictly limited but I would be happy to think that you may take amoment to reflect on his life and maybe raise a glass to his memory.

No flowers please but, if desired, donations in his name are welcome, and should be sent to: St Ann’s Hospice, Heald Green, Cheadle SK8 3SZ

Gordon Brindley

It is with deep sadness that Moseley C.C. report the passing of Gordon Brindley the President of the club at the age of 82. Joining Moseley from Warwickshire Schoolboys in 1954, Gordon started his career at the old ground at Moorlands before the move to the current ground at Streetsbrook Road. As well as a long playing career, Gordon served the club tirelessly having been on committee for nearly 50 years, first as Assistant Treasurer and then as Treasurer. His financial expertise and prudence was instrumental in developing the club from what was a field into the facility it is today.

Gordon became club President in 1994, a position he still held and he was also League President in 1996. A passionate supporter of the Birmingham League and all its traditions, he will be sorely missed by all that knew him. Our thoughts are with his wife of 55 years, Sherley and sons Adrian, Stuart and Andrew as well as grandchildren Grace and Harry.

The funeral will take place on Tuesday 19th May at 12.30 pm. Due to current social restrictions, the cortege will travel a circuit of the cricket ground at Moseley so people will be able to pay their respects whilst being able to keep the appropriate distance from each other. Those wishing to do so should be at the ground no later than midday.
